#Awake
A new day is dawning.

Ever felt tired and worn out? Feeling alone  and isolated even with people around you every day? Trying to be everything to everybody and finally realise that you can please some people some of the time but you can't please everybody all of the time? Well the truth is life doesn't work that way. Even as a Christian you can feel like the whole world is against you for setting the boundaries and be all Christ called you to be.

Do you feel like everything goes wrong if you've not started your day with prayer?
I've had a few of those moments the last couple of weeks. Saturday morning I stood in my bathroom worn out and tired and I just cried out "Lord I can't do this. I know You are with me but how long still?", and I felt the Holy Spirit say to me "Awake; a new day is dawning "

Puzzled I took to the scriptures and searched for the answers. I was drawn to Daniel 5:27 (NIV) You have been weighed and found wanting; and 2Chronicles 7:14 ((NIV) If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sins and will heal their land.
Ephesians 5:14 (NIV) This is why it is said "Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you".

Meditating on these scriptures and Daniel  6 it became clear to me. There are many of us in a zombie state of Christianity. There is a shift happening in the spirit realm and God is about to do a new thing. He is calling His sons and daughters to wake up! There is a lost and dying world out there. People who are looking for hope in a hopeless world. People desperately trying to find the meaning of life and we need to be a living testimony of the hope we have in Christ.  We can no longer proclaim the Word without living the Word. We are to be the salt and light of this world.

He is not calling all of us to be pastors , evangelist and preachers but to be all He created us to be wherever we are. In our places of work, amongst our families, in our neighbourhoods. Be His love in action. God needs people who will take a stand for what is right. Christians must lovingly speak out for what is true and right. Like Daniel, Shadrack, Meshach and Abed-Nego, God is calling us to live a life above reproach. And you know what, we don't even have to do it in our own strength; that is impossible but His Word says in 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

Shalom
