Your Seed
Hi friends
This is take 2 of writing this blog.
Facebook crashed as I was uploading the post. With many things I started doubting whether I should post what the Holy Spirit placed on my heart. I left it alone, spend time in the word all morning and went for a 2,5 hour walk on the beach but the message is staying with me and shouting louder and louder.
My word for 2023 is growth and this message so aptly fits into the vision I have for myself this year.
Getting ready to read and ponder over Isaiah 1 + 2 last night my bible fell open on Genesis 1 and verses 11-12 just lit up like a beacon, grabbing my attention. And the Holy Spirit imparted onto me the words Seed and Earth and gave me a complete new revelation. I just love it when the living and breathing word of God speaks into our lives and our situations.
Let me give you some context to what I believed the spirit was saying.
Genesis 1: 11-12
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose SEED IS IN ITSELF (emphasis mine) on the EARTH (emphasis mine); and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
EARTH meaning us, mankind and SEED meaning our spirit-being (made in the image of God the Father, God the son and God the holy spirit).
Wikipedia defines dust as fine particles of solid matter and the Hebrew word āpār, refers to dirt, powder, debris or ash.
We were made of dust which is but a small part of earth. For those not familiar with the bible or Genesis, the first man, Adam was formed out of dust and all of mankind descended from Adam and Eve.
Adamah is the Hebrew word for earth.
Walking down the beach this afternoon the wind suddenly blew up from the sand some fine dust only for a few seconds and I realised how small and minuscule we really are in the grand scheme of how big our God is; yet He loves us and formed us out of a small part of His creation then breathed His breath, His ruach, into our nostrils of dust so we could live and breath. He blew a part of Himself into us and gave us dominion over all the earth and everything He created in it and on it.
Genesis 1:26(a) And God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…
Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. (KJV)
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, “Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it. (KJV)
Now let me draw your attention back to Genesis 1:11
Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind WHOSE SEED IS IN INSELF, on the EARTH (emphasis mine).
Can you see it?
We are SEED carriers and we have everything inside of us to grow into all God has created us to be. To grow and to be fruitful and to multiply and replenish and subdue the earth (ourselves). Now this is all within a spiritual context and if our spirit grows it spills out into our natural lives.
We should cultivate the earth, ourselves and tend to our spiritual gardens. Root out what is not suppose to be there, that which will hinder or stifle our growth or corrupt our seed. Negative thoughts, fear, doubt and unbelief stunts our growth. Negative influences in our lives stops us from focussing on our gardens and our growth.
Our seed can only grow to its full potential if we water it with His water, His holy spirit and fertilise it with His word. We should also fear God and that is not a negative fear but reverence for Him.
So as SEED carriers we should also know when and where to plant our seeds; and for that we need wisdom and discernment. Planting our seed in the wrong gardens leads embarrassment. Isaiah 1:29(b) says “you shall be embarrassed because of the gardens which you have chosen”. In the right garden there is longevity and peace and rest and abundant growth.
Remember, seeds remain in dormant state until conditions for growth becomes favorable. What conditions are you going to create for your seed to grow? What environment are you going to create for yourself to grow. Are you going to grow in the dark or are going to grow and thrive in the light?
Shalom.
